1- Are they Licensed, Bonded and Insured?
2- Are they listed on the BBB website?
3- Are their prices competitive with other companies?
4- Are the products they use safe for you, your kids, your pets and plants?
(These questions are in no particular order)
We could ask questions all day but we'll stop there with the prequalifing questions.
If any of the questions above don't meet your expectations you NEED to move on to another company. One avenue you may want to consider is asking friends and family members who they have or are using. Ask for the technician phone number and speak to the tech personally.
Again, if the tech is not able to answer any questions you have to your satisfaction, maybe you need to check out other options. The tech will most likely ask if you would like an inspection, (most companies will perform a free inspection.) Take the tech up on the offer. If you have a crawl space have them go down there and take a look around. If you have an attic have them inspect that area as well. Let's be real, how often do you go into your crawl or attic.
While the tech is performing the inspection, walk around with them, have them point out areas of concern. When they are in the areas you don't want to follow, (crawls or attics) let them use your camera. Most professional tech will have a camera in their truck. Review the pictures and have them explain what you are looking at.
If there is a need for pest control services get a price in writing. If you agree to that price and they have satisfied all your questions, move forward and have the service performed. And of course, if they don't satisfy your questions get a second opinion from another reputable company.
